Structure

Each letter of the Beaver Alphabet has its own page. You get to the pages by clicking either on Start!, or by clicking on any of the links below.
On each page, you see the letter as a link. If you click on this link, a little window will open that tells you how this sound is pronounced,
Also on each page, there is an example for the sound. The example consists of four things:

  1. the Beaver word spelled out
  2. a picture (we didn't want to use any English on the pages, so the picture tells you what the word means)
  3. a short soundclip of the word
  4. and a soundclip with whole sentence with the word
  5. .

The two soundclips are represented by a little grey bar (there is one at the bottom of the page). If you press on the "play"-button, you will hear the clips.

Settings

In order for your computer to play the sounds, you have to check some things. If you can't see a little grey bar below (and if you can't play a sound from there), you probably are lacking the right plug-in. A good one is QuicktimeⓇ. You can download it from here.

Do you know what the little hooks under the vowels, and the little accents on top of them mean? Find out here!
